British Society for the Study of Prosthetic Dentistry -recent
British Society for the Study of Prosthetic Dentistry. This society, also known as the British Society of Prosthodontics is the foremost, specialist prosthodontic society in the UK. The Society was founded in 1953. Membership of the Society is open to dentists, all other dental care professionals, doctors and scientists who profess an interest in prosthodontics.
The earliest versions of the Society tie were produced, with a motif comprising a map of the UK and Ireland, indicating the UK and Irish membership of the Society, together with ‘BSSPD’ and a knotted serpent indicating wisdom and fellowship. This more recent tie was designed for the Society by Agnieska Williams, a former designer for ‘Tie Rack’, at the request of Dr Shelagh Farrell.
