Dentists’ Provident Society Dentists’ Provident Society was started by dentists over one hundred years ago as a membership organisation to protect its members from the financial consequences of illness and injury. The organisation remains owned and run by its members. The Society had had two ties. The first tie displayed a Society insignia on a plain maroon background The second tie, still worn by some in the Society, displays the Society crest on a striped background comprising broad maroon and blue stripes separated by a thin gold band.
