Guy’s Hospital Rugby Football Club, which has an illustrious history and continues to exist to this day, is accepted by the Rugby Football Union and Guinness Book of Records as being the oldest, and therefore first rugby club in the world, with a foundation date of 1843. Many members of GHRFC went on to win caps for England and other rugby playing nations.
