Royal Army Dental Corps
Royal Army Dental Corps This tie (20357.1 – condition, good) was introduced in
1972. The Corps bowtie (20596 – condition, good) is typically worn for mess dinners and
other formal occasions. Before the formation of the tri-service dental organisation,
which came into being in 1995 as the Defence Dental Agency, the RN, Army and RAF
were each reponsible for the dental care of their own service personnel and had their
own separately administered organisations -the Army Dental Corps (ADC) having been
responsible for the teeth of the RAF until 1932 when the RAF set up its own dental
branch. The RADC was responsible for the dental care of all army personnel of the
Regular Army world wide. From 1963, it was administered via the Dental Group system.
There were in all thirteen dental Groups around the world, including HQ and Central
Group RADC in Aldershot
