Royal Army Dental Corps HQ and Central Group
Royal Army Dental Corps HQ and Central Group. Prior to the formation of the TriService Defence Dental Agency in 1995 when the dental services of the RN, Army and RAF were combined to make the first tri-service organisation within the UK armed forces, the Royal Army Dental Corps was organised on the Group System which was developed in 1963 in BAOR, by Colonel GA Elliott and Captain DHP Hopton. Eventually there were 12 Dental Groups spread across UK, BAOR and the rest of the world. A 13 Dental Group, HQ and Central Group RADC, based in Aldershot, was a multi purpose HQ, consisting of Aldershot Dental Clinic, Consultant Advisers Wing, QM Department and Dental Hygienist and Dental nurse (DCP) training. School. This tie was worn by personnel who had been posted, worked or trained at the HQ and Central Group RADC.
