In 1991 the Ukrainian dental magazine ‘DentArt’, Editor-in-Chief, Professor Serhij Radlinsky, introduced biannual, ‘themed-topic’, international symposia. The seminars, sponsored by Dentsply, were held in Poltava, Ukraine. Handmade/hand-painted, limited-edition ties were commissioned for a number of these symposia. Ties 22097.1 (condition-good) was produced for the spring 2005 seminar. Tie 22097.2 (condition – good) was produced for the autumn 2005 seminar. The third ‘DentArt’ Symposium tie, featuring a windmill on a molar tooth (22097.3 – condition, good) was produced for the autumn 2006 seminar entitled “Winds of change in dentistry”. All three ‘DentArt Symposia ties were conceived by Oleg Perepelitsa, an artist who works for ‘DentArt’, and produced and painted by Svitlana Prouty-Lysiak, an artist and tie maker, who now lives and works in the United States of America.
