University of Bristol Dental Student Society
This tie (20998 – condition, worn), which dates back to at least 1974, with its motif of a pelican standing on top of an upturned pair of lower root forceps, was designed by Professor Dave Berry. The Society dates back to 1921. During the move of the dental school to a new site in 1940, in the throes of World War II, the Society lapsed, to be reborn in 1942. In addition to social and sporting activities, the Society has enriched the instruction of generations of dental students.
